I’d really like to use this blog to share a bit about the things that interest me. I guess the hope is that I’m not the only one interested in these things – and that my mom isn’t the only person on the interweb who’ll be a dedicated reader of my piffle (Hi Mom).
So, who am I?
Partner in Unchained
I am one of three founding partners in Unchained – a guide to the best independent shops. Unchained is what I do with most of my time. It gives me my dizzying highs and devastating lows (there are no mediocres in running your own start-up, I’ve come to learn). I’m a big fan of what I recently heard someone call ‘kind capitalism’ and try to shape our business in a way that makes me proud as well as rich (although to date only the former has been achieved).
Comms Strategist
I started my working life as a copywriter and then went into planning. Try though I may to feel otherwise, I friggin’ love the industry. The most talented people I’ve ever met (and most of my dearest friends) come from agencies. I have a handful of clients (some are agencies, others aren’t) who I work with from time to time. When Unchained began I promised myself I’d never stop consulting. I don’t want to get too used to being the client. If you’d like to hire my brain, drop me a line.
Treehugger
I’m part of a thinktank called London United. We are a group of people brought togetherĀ to discuss and debate sustainability and environmental issues. We’re always figuring out ways we can work together to make a positive difference.
I’m also a huge geeky webfan, gadget lover and keen cook.
